History

Music Funeral Home has been serving Waycross area families for years. We are honored to be a part of the rich history of this community and plan to be a part of it for many years to come.

Rodney and Chris Music

Rodney A. Music bought Mincy-Fulford Funeral Home on April 23, 1993 from a company called Service Corporation International, located in Houston, Texas.

Since purchasing the funeral home in 1993 we have completely renovated and enlarged the building. We offer complete funeral services with our chapel, visitation rooms, large parking lot, public address system, music system, and accessibility for the handicapped. Music Funeral Home not only offers at-need funeral arrangements, but we offer people many options when pre-arranging their funeral.

In September of 2002, Music Funeral Home completed the construction of its on-site crematory, Satilla Crematory. Satilla Crematory allows Music to continue to offer the excellent service that families deserve. The crematory is also equipped with a viewing room which allows families to view the cremation process.

Rodney is a lifelong resident of Waycross/Ware County who has been serving as a funeral director/embalmer for over 35 years. He is married to the former Chris King of Waresboro, and they have two sons, Bradley and Brock. Chris is also involved in the family business on a daily basis.

Bradley is also a lifelong resident of Waycross/Ware County who graduated from Ware County High School in 1996 and from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 1999. He is a licensed funeral director/embalmer and insurance agent. He has two sons, Carter and Cayden.

Brock Music

Brock Music is a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. He began working at the funeral home in 1993 at the age of 13. Upon graduating from Ware County High School in 1999, he decided to attend Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. Brock returned to the funeral home after graduation in 2001. In 2007, Brock left the family business to pursue his love of aviation. He graduated from Middle Georgia College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management while obtaining his Commercial Pilots License and Certified Flight Instructor License. Brock was employed with Martinaire Aviation as a pilot for a United Parcel Service "UPS" feeder route for a short time. In 2012, after careful consideration, Brock decided to move back to Waycross and return to the family business. He and his wife Sarah Ellis Music married in 2014 and have two daughters, Ellis Kate (2016) and Early Jane (2017). Sarah is the Controller for Lewis and Raulerson, Inc. They are both members of First Baptist Church in Waycross. Brock enjoys grilling, fishing, and camping with his family.
