Mr. Eulis Mock, 80, died Monday afternoon (August 28, 2006) at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL after an extended illness.
He was born and raised in Baxley, but he has lived in Waycross since 1957. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator. He served in the United States Army during World War II and attended Midway Baptist Church in Baxley. He will also be remembered as an avid fisherman and loving grandfather by his family.
He is the son of the late William Edger Mock and Addie Hughes Mock. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Malzie Mock, Buster Mock, Curtis Mock and Carol Mock.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lela McClelland Mock of Waycross; a son, Danny E. Mock, Sr. (wife Nancy) of Waycross; two daughters, Hilda Taylor (husband Fred) of Waycross, and Janis Barber (husband James) of Douglas; two sisters, Mary Lee Chavis of Babson Park, FL, and Willie Nora Kersey (husband Hugh M.) of Hazlehurst; a brother, David Mock (wife Leater Pearl) of Westville, FL; 14 grandchildren, Lateasha Carver, Brezzy Wilson, Tiffaney Wilson, Scottie Wilson, Jerrod Barber, Mistey Kersey, Jimmy Barber, Kristin Burnam, Kiesha Crews, Jedrick Taylor, Danny Mock, Jr., Dennis Mock, Tammy Boatright and Sirena Cady; and 16 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (August 31, 2006) at Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Music Funeral Home.
